Doble Fuerza - Pibes De Barrio - 1995

Doble Fuerza is a punk rock band formed in Quilmes (Argentina) in 1987. Their music was influenced by street punk bands so in the early years some boneheads used to go to the shows, but they were ejected from the shows ;the band never was involved in fascist groups.
In 1995 Doble Fuerza launched their first album called "Pibes de barrio", in 1995 they supported The Ramones in Obras Stadium, and in 1997 the band started Die Toten Hosen's show.

U.K. Subs - Live And Loud !! - 2005

Los UK Subs son una banda formada en inglaterra en 1976 al principio bajo el nombre de Subversives con Charlie Harper en voz, Nicky Garrat en guitarra, Paul Slack en bajo, y Pete Davis en bateria. La banda ha cambiado de guitarrista, bajista y baterista muchas veces, aproximadamente 19 guitarristas, 20 bajistas y 30 bateristas.
Entre sus temas mas conocidos en la escena punk estan Stranglehold, Warhead, Tomorrow's Girls, Teenage, entre otros.

Los Uk subs tocaron en John Peel Sessions en 1977 y en BBC Radio 1 en 1978, firmaron un contrato con GEM Records y sacaron en 1979 su primer disco llamado Another Kind Of Blues.

Con la llegada del nuevo bajista Alvin Gibbs y el baterista Steve Roberts a principios de 1980, los temas de esta etapa fueron mas influenciados por una onda mas heavy metal. En julio de 1982 ellos se convirtieron en la primera banda oriental en tocar en Polonia desde la imposicion de la ley marcial, el concierto se realizo en la ciudad de Gdansk. En 1991 los UK subs llegaron a contar con la presencia de Lars Frederiksen (Rancid) en guitarra para la gira en el Reino Unido por los 30 años de la banda.

Algo peculiar de la banda, fuera de lo de la gran cantidad de integrantes que pasaron por ella es que sus discos oficiales siguen una secuencia alfabetica: Another Kind of Blues (1979), Brand New Age (1980), Crash Course LIVE ALBUM (1980), Diminished Responsibility (1981)...Work In Progress (realizandose en el verano de 2010).

Fuckemos - Can Kill You - 1994

Formed in Austin, Texas in the early 90's the Fuckemos reside in near-alien peculiarity, a hodgepodge of absolute originality, savant-wizardry, punk rock playfulness, and absurdity. The band owns the distinction of possessing a name not reprintable in most publications. Musically, this quartet is a hybrid of the aforementioned Butthole Surfers and the straightforward metal of acts like Judas Priest or Dio. With frontman Russell Porter pitch-shifting his vocals to sound like a 78 record played on 33 rpms and using themes that even Butthole Surfer Gibby Haynes might not have touched, the Fuckemos are perhaps one of the strangest metal bands to have emerged from planet Texas. They have also developed a career where many similarly silly or whimsical acts have not.

The band was the demented brainchild of Russell Porter and Ed "the Creep" Rancourt, who began writing songs using a toy guitar with a built-in speaker and a voice-altering microphone. Recording to a four-track, the duo began demoing material under the moniker Warthog 2001UK. When they were able to secure opening slots in Austin's scummiest dives, Porter was handling both vocals and drums. After an incident with security at Austin's famed Emo's nightclub in 1992 in which Porter tried to retrieve his wife from within the club after hours, he went home and sticker-taped the words "Fuck Emos" on his kick drum. The next morning, Warthog 2001UK became the Fuckemos. A simple story. Shortly after, Porter began handling vocals, trombone, and Casio exclusively, handing the drum reins to Sean Powell. Catching the ears of local pop artist Frank Kozik, the band recorded its first album, Fuckemos Can Kill You, in 1994, through Kozik's Rise Records (reissued via Man's Ruin in 1999).

Numerous singles and drunken, unrehearsed shows followed. In 1995, the band recorded the follow-up, Lifestyles of the Drugged & Homeless, on poster artist Lindsay Kuhn's No Lie imprint (now out of print). A year later, the band returned with Black Helicopters, later to be reissued on Man's Ruin. By 1997, Porter and Powell had gone through lineup changes too numerous to mention, but secured bass player -- and former Cherubs drummer -- Brent Prager and guitarist Brian McGee and created the oddball, upbeat Celebration!, their first album release through Man's Ruin. In 1999, Kozik reissued Can Kill You and Black Helicopters. The band followed in 2000 with Airshow 2000, perhaps its most involved and sophisticated recording.

Se me ha dado por recordar a esta genial banda argentina. Aquel año por fin terminaba el colegio, por razones que escaparon a mis posibilidades me perdí ese concierto que fue uno de los mejores que hicieron en este país, estaban presentando el Postal 97. Para redondear ese año la "U" salió campeon y como ya es costumbre un buen grupo de hinchas fue a alentarlos.
Por ahi encontre este conciertazo, pensaba postearlo de todos modos desde hace mucho pero como dice el mosca"Tarde pero seguro".

The Mahones - The Best Of - 2003

Banda Canadiense formada en Ontario en 1990. Segun su pagina oficial, el nombre de la banda se refiere a la banda Ramones, pero en un entrevista al Calgary Herald, Finny Mc Conell comentó que el nombre se basó en el nombre "Pogue Mahone" de la gran banda irlandesa The Pogues.
La banda fue influenciada por bandas com The Pogues, The Clash The Waterboys y Husker Dü.

The Adverts - The Punk Singles Collection - 2004

The Adverts fueron una banda de punk rock inglesa formada en 1976 y disuelta en 1979. T.V. Smith y Gaye Advert fueron los fundadores del grupo. T.V. Smith era cantante y guitarrista, mientras que Gaye Advert era la encargada de tocar el bajo.
El segundo guitarra era Howard Pickup, sustituido por Paul Martinez durante los últimos meses de la banda. Hubo hasta cuatro baterías: Laurie Driver, Jon Towe, Rod Latter y Rick Martinez. Los teclados corrrieron a cargo de Tim Cross. Son principalmente recordados por sus singles "One Chord Wonders" y "Gary Gilmore's Eyes", así como por haber sido una de las primeras bandas punk inglesas en incorporar a una mujer entre sus miembros. El tema "Gary Gilmore's Eyes" alcanzó el número uno del "top 40" británico en agosto de 1977.

Ratos De Porão - Feijoada Acidente? International - 1995

Ratos de Porão (Portuguese for "Basement Rats") is a Brazilian crossover thrash band from São Paulo. They have been around since 1980, toured South America, North America, and Europe and still continue to play today.
Lead singer João Benedan (better known as João Gordo) is a well-known VJ on MTV Brasil, but now, he works at Rede Record in a TV Show callaed: "Legendários" (Lengendaries).
After the depart of Jabá, the band had a lot of bass players and the band entered in studio to record an album only with punk and hardcore covers called Feijoada Acidente?, a joke with the Guns N' Roses album "The Spaghetti Incident?" (Feijoada is a traditional food from Brazil, a stew based on beans and pork). This album has two versions; one covering only Brazilian bands such as Olho Seco, Lobotomia, Garotos Podres, among others; and one covering only non-Brazilian bands such as G.B.H., Black Flag, Anti-Cimex, Minor threat, among others. Between those times, played bass Walter Bart (who used to play in a punk band called "Não Religião") and "Pica Pau", who stayed in the band until 1999.
As an album of "come back" times to hardcore and Portuguese lyrics, they released in 1997, the album Carniceria Tropical, and the band came back to the "success" that they had. In same year, João Gordo started to work as VJ of MTV Brasil.
In 1999 joined the band, the bassist Cristian "Fralda", who used to play in the punk rock band "Blind Pigs", and they entered in studio to re-record their first album, and called this album Sistemados Pelo Crucifa (an joke-anacronism with the original name "Crucificados Pelo Sistema"). The front cover was designed by the Korzus bass player Dick.

Huntingtons - Rocket To Ramonia - 1996

Huntingtons era una banda punk rock formados en Baltimore, Maryland aproximadamente en 1993 con Cliff Powell ( Cliffy Huntington), Mike Holt ( Mikey Huntington) and Mike Pierce ( Mikee Huntington). Esta es una banda fuertemente influenciada por Ramones, sinceramente no he oido hasta ahora una banda que haga tan parecido los covers de Ramones como ellos.

Luego de sacar su album debut en 1996 y tener aceptaqcion decidieron sacar mas producciones en un corto periodo de tiempo como: The Good, The Bad And The Ugly(vivo), File Under Ramones y Get Lost. Como dato adicional la banda llego a tocar junto a Joey Ramone en un show en el CBGB. Posteriormente editaron el disco Plastic Surgery y Split ambos en enero de 2000 en esa epoca realizaron giras por Estados Unidos y Europa.

Finalmente luego de cambios en sus miembros la banda se separó en 2005, se llegaron a reunir el 2009 pero eventualmente.

No estoy seguro del origen de este disco, creo que fue armado de un tributo virtual que alguna vez se hizo, la mayoria de bandas son de Argentina, pero cabe destacar lo de los españoles de FANTA, los uruguayos Diasepunk, los chilenos de los Mox y los peruanos de Utopia. Generation X - Perfect Hits (1975-81) - 1985

Se formaron de otra anterior banda britanica (Chelsea), era Gene October el cantante pero luego que este dejo la banda le pusieron este nombre en honor a un libro escrito por Jane Deverson, Billy Idol paso de ser el guitarrista al cantante de la banda. Su primera presentacion fue en el Roxy, justamente ellos lo inauguraron en 1976. Luego de sacar sus dos primeros albums, Generation X (1977) y Valley Of The Dolls (1979) no tuvieron el exito esperado, sumado a problemas con su manager y cambios en sus integrantes, llegando a pasar James stevenson (ex guitarrista de Chelsea) y Terry Chimes (ex baterista de The Clash) decidieron separarse en 1981. El bajista Tony James formó una banda llamada Sigue Sigue Sputnik y Billy Idol se fue a Estados Unidos a hacer carrera de solista diferente al estilo de los Generation X.

Rezilllos - Can't Stand The Rezillos - 1978

Rezillos es una banda punk formada en Edimburgo, Escocia, en 1976 y aun ahora continuan realizando presentaciones pero con cambios en su formacion original, incluso el nombre de la banda se cambió a Revillos. Con un estilo irreverente, la imagen glam rock y el estilo peculiar de su cantante Fay Fife los hizo una banda con caracteristicas fuera de lo comun en la escena punk del Reino Unido. Quizas la cancion mas conocida fuera del Reino Unido sea el tema Somebody's Gonna Get Their Head Kicked in Tonight, cover de Fleetwood Mac, pero esto por supuesto no quiere decir que sea la mejor cancion ni menos el unico buen tema de la banda, esto lo comprobaran cuando escuchen este disco completo.

The Professionals - The Professionals - 1997

The Professionals era una banda que se formó en 1979 luego de la disolución de los Sex Pistols, integrada por Steve Jones en guitarra y voz, Paul Cook en bateria (Sex Pistols) y Andy Allen, amigo de Steve Jones en bajo, quien luego fue reemplazado por Paul Myers, lamentablemente la banda se disolvió en 1982 durante una gira por los Estados Unidos en la que además tuvieron un accidente de transito que no llegó a mayores.
Esta es una reedición del primer disco (1980) que apareció en 1997, es realmente muy bueno, se puede apreciar claramente el estilo de la guitarra de Steve Jones, pese a ello no es de un sonido tan desgarrador como el de los Sex Pistols y menos aun deja de ser un muy buen disco. Recomendado.

Blondie - Live At The CBGB (Bootleg) - 1975

Blondie es una banda proveniente de NYC, formada en 1975 con Deborah Harry en voz, Clem Burke en bateria, Gary Valentine como bajista, James Destri en teclados y Chris Stein en guitarra.
La banda empezó tocando en lugares como el CBGB influenciadas por bandas locales como Ramones lograron hacerse conocidos en la escena de New York de aquellos tiempos con temas como X offender, In the flesh y Denis. Es en 1978 con su disco Parallel Lines en el que incluyen mezclas con una onda mas punk, pop, soft rock con el que logran hacerse conocidos en otras partes del mundo.
Esta grabacion es de 1975 en el CBGB en una de sus primeras presentaciones, la calidad es buena asi que a los que les agrada el punk americano de aquella epoca les vendra bien esto.

Garotos Podres - Cançoes Para Ninar - 1993

Garotos Podres is a Brazilian punk rock band formed in 1982 in the city of Mauá in the metropolitan region of São Paulo called A.B.C..
In 1985, while Brazil was still under military dictatorship, they appeared on the Ataque Sonoro compilation along with Ratos de Porão, Cólera, Lobotomia and others of the Brazilian hardcore. They released the first album of the band, Mais Podres do que Nunca ("More Rotten Than Ever"), on the now defunct Rocker label and then the band really started, selling about 50,000 copies and becoming popular until today.

I.R.A. is a Colombian hardcore punk band from Medellín, Antioquia, formed in 1985 by David Viola (at present, guitarist and vocalist of the band) and some of his friends that have already left the band. It is one of the oldest bands that still exist in Medellín, thanks to the perseverance of David Viola. Its long career and recent tours in the United States have made it one of the most important and popular punk bands in Medellín and Colombia. In their songs, they talk about, and criticize, the actual situation of Colombia and the world, and also about the life and feelings of people in this situation.
